The Wedding Cake

A wedding is never complete without a wedding cake. Whether it’s a simple or multi layered cake, it is an essential part of the big day. Just like other important aspects of the wedding you need to take your time and decide on your preferences for this delicious culinary piece of art.

When choosing the wedding cake, you need to make sure to match it with your wedding theme, the overall trend and your personal style as a couple. Traditional cake designs will never go out of style, so don’t worry if you or your partner decided on a multi-tiered cake.

The wedding preparation process can be exhausting sometimes, but when it comes to choosing the wedding cake, you’re going to have plenty of fun. Nevertheless, it is advisable to start your search by looking at as many cake pictures as possible.

You probably already have a favorite bakery shop; contact them to make sure they make wedding cakes, schedule for an appointment so that they can be ready with the look book and even cake samples, then you can go over the options, choose the filling and right icing, and do a lot of tasting to find your perfect cake. Remember, your cake doesn’t only need to look nice, but also taste really good to you and your guests.

There is a new trend these days, which is using really bold colors for the cake, brides are going with bright purple, green and even blue to match their wedding theme or style. Cake toppers are also popular in addition to a sparkling touch of crystal monogram cake toppers. With a talented cake artist, the options are endless.

The cupcake trend is a really nice option in my opinion, the overall look of the cake is very attractive, and you don’t have to worry about the cutting and serving ritual.

As always, have fun and bon appétit!

Choosing your wedding dress

Starting at an early age, at least for little girls envisioning their wedding day, when we start to think of our wedding, we think of our wedding dress.

Finding your perfect dress will not be an easy task, but I think it should be fun and memorable. The first advice is to start looking for the dress early, the more time you have, the better your chances are on finding a good deal for your dream dress. You can start the search six to nine months ahead; this will give enough time for special order deliveries and any required alterations.

When choosing a dress, you should always remember that the dress is supposed to fit your body shape and match your style and not the other way around. Wedding dresses are made in several designs that fit the vast number of style and size preferences. Collecting photographs of dresses you like will be very handy when you start your shopping trips. You can also look through the websites of your favorite stores before you start the fitting sessions.

Start by trying out the basic common shapes for the dresses, princess, ball gown, sheath and empire waist. A ball gown works out for tall thin brides, with triangle or rectangle figures, slight pear shaped figures and slim hourglass figures.

.

An A-Line Dress works mostly for petit or full-figured brides and ladies with short waists. Slim, tall brides with rectangle or triangle body shapes will be better suited with column or sheath dresses.

Set a budget before you go shopping and try your best to stick to it! Remember when calculating your dress budget to include the veil and headpiece, in addition to the shoes and wedding jewelry. Almost all wedding gowns will need some alterations if they are not custom made, so make sure you have that included in your budgeting, these small expenses will add up to the bottom line.

Most importantly, bring a friend of family member dress shopping with you. When you start to narrow down your choices, please have a good friend with you, someone who is not afraid to give you their honest opinion. Remember they are there to help you. If the critique seems harsh, its only because they want you to look your best on your wedding day.

Remember that it’s your big day, and you want to look great but also feel comfortable. Wedding dress shopping is difficult, just try to have fun, and know that whatever you choose, you will be a gorgeous bride!

Best Regards,
